2015 kam ich das erste Mal mit Drupal in Berührung. Das war noch Drupal 7, und man kann nicht sagen, dass es Liebe auf den ersten Blick war ... Die kam erst, als ich Drupal 8 kennenlernte. Doch seitdem habe ich zu den drei Schlagworten, die mich am ehesten beschreiben (PHP-Programmierer, Linux-Fan, und Verfechter klaren Codes) noch eines hinzugefügt: Drupalista aus Überzeugung. ich bin Acquia certified Back End Specialist, Acquia certified Developer, Acquia certified Site Builder und natürlich Individual Member bei der Drupal Association.
Warum ich Drupal so schätze? Es läuft. Egal, wie groß der Kunde, egal, wie komplex die Anfrage. Und dann natürlich die Community! Selten habe ich so coole Menschen, schlaue Köpfe und unkomplizierte Programmierer*innen kennengelernt wie bei den großen Drupal Conventions (DrupalCon Wien 2017, Drupal Europe Darmstadt 2018, DrupalCon Amsterdam 2019).
Während der DrupalCon Wien entstand 2017 zusammen mit pminf die Idee, die Drupal User Group in Dresden wieder aufleben zu lassen. Seitdem bin ich einer der Organisatoren dieser kleinen, aber feinen Drupal Gruppe. Außerdem bin ich Mitglied der Drupal Usergroup Berlin. Gern nehme ich an Sprints am Wochenende teil und freue mich ganz besonders, wenn ich Mentor für neue Contributoren sein kann, denn guten Code muss man weitergeben!
Als überzeugter Freelancer habe ich für verschiedene Agenturen jeder Größe gearbeitet (siehe Referenzen). Auf den Punkt gebracht bedeutet das: Drupal ist mehr als ein CMS für mich. Drupal ist ein Lebensgefühl, und wenn ich (inter)national unterwegs bin, versuche ich immer, mit anderen Drupal-Programmierern in Kontakt zu treten ... und ich hoffe, dass Besucher in Dresden oder Berlin mich ansprechen, wenn sie zu Besuch sind!

Why I value Drupal so much? It works. No matter how big the customer or how complex the demand. But just as important: The community! I've rarely met such cool people, clever brains, and uncomplicated programmers as when I attended the big Drupal Conventions (DrupalCon Vienna 2017, Drupal Europe Darmstadt 2018, DrupalCon Amsterdam 2019).
During the DrupalCon in Vienna 2017, pminf and I had the idea to resuscitate the Drupal User Group in Dresden. Ever since, I'm one of the organizers of this small but excellent Drupal group. I'm also a member of the Drupal Usergroup in Berlin. I love to take part in weekend sprints, and particularly enjoy being a mentor for new contributors, because good code has to be spread!
As a confirmed freelancer, I've worked for quite a few different agencies big and small on a multitude of projects (see references). In a nutshell? Drupal is more than a CMS for me. Drupal is a life-style, and when I'm on the road, I always try to get in touch with fellow Drupal progammers ... and I hope that those traveling to Dresden or Berlin do get in touch with me!
